MY "SEA TURTLE" SMOOTHIE RECIPE

I N G R E D I E N T S

1 cup organic spinach

1 cup green grapes

1 ripe organic banana

2 tsp. spirulina 

2 tsp. chia seeds

almond milk
(add as much as you want, depending on if you want your smoothie thick or more watery)

I use The Ninja to blend the ingredients, but you can use any blender you have at home!

My Mum and I love making smoothies together! We wanted to create our own “green drink” one day, and this is the smoothie we came up with! We literally added whatever we thought would taste good in combination together. This was all random & completely a recipe made up on the spot. We loved it so much that we decided to write it down in our recipe book and give it a name! The spirulina that we used in the smoothie gave the overall taste a kind of “fresh water” flavor. For those of you who do not know what spirulina is, it is a blue-green algae! It is a superfood, and super delicious! My Mum & I felt that the smoothie’s unique flavor was due to the spirulina we added. And that is why we came up with a name having to do with the sea! Sea Turtle seemed too appropriate!  Plus I love the sound of it, it’s so cute! This recipe is so easy to make at home, and a perfect Summer treat after a long day out in the sun!
