WHY YOU SHOULD INDULGE IN SWEETS

I just really wanted to focus on the topic of sweets today. Some people think that they have to cut out all sugars and never indulge, even once in a while, in sweets. Personally, I think that is doing more harm than good. If you deprive yourself of something that you used to enjoy, it could lead you to overindulge one day in your favorite pint of ice cream! I’m not saying sweets won’t harm a person’s body. But sweets in moderation is okay. For me, sweets are a treat. In my mind, they are well earned. I workout everyday, I do at least 30-45 minutes of yoga everyday. And, three out of seven days I hit the gym for light cardio and weight training. So for example, the weekends are my cheat days. I allow myself to eat that chocolate chip cookie, or that peanut butter brownie. All I need is one, and that satisfies my sugar craving. So it gives me something to look forward to at the end of my week. I work hard in the gym and on my mat to earn that chocolate chip cookie. So, personally, I think it is important to treat yourself every once in a while. Remember, one cookie a week isn’t going to hurt you. And of course I understand some people are on strict diets, but there are always alternatives to sweets. Try baking your own oatmeal cookies. There are so many healthy recipes for oatmeal cookies, and the reason I recommend them is because they are healthier and they totally satisfy a sweet tooth. But, please don’t deprive yourself of a sweet that used to be a treat. Make it something you work for all week long. Workout hard in the gym, outdoors, or on your mat for that cookie at the end of the week :)
