CHEERS TO NATIONAL WINE DAY! XOXO
Where are all of my winos? Wine lovers? Wine friends? You must celebrate today with me! It is National Wine Day. So without further a do, pour yourself a glass of red wine, snuggle on your couch, & read all about why you should be consuming red wine on the daily. Not even kidding!
Consuming wine has been a thing since the beginning of time. It literally dates back to 6,000 B.C. in the country of Georgia (no not the state). The Egyptians, Greeks, & the Romans all enjoyed wine on a regular basis, especially for ceremonial purposes. It's kind of like how modern humans drink a glass for almost any celebratory event, life milestone, or turning another year older! Wine has also always been a huge Jewish ritual & was even later adopted into Christianity.
WINE DOESN'T MAKE YOU FAT!
Unlike beer, wine doesn't force you to adopt a beer belly what so ever! You can happily drink wine without forfeiting your toned bod. Wine has very little to no carbohydrates & (listen up) not and ounce of fat! Say what?! Haha. Drinking wine in moderation can even help you regulate your body weight. The only thing you have to watch out for is consuming too much alcohol because it can make you hungry, heading straight for your fridge, cupboards, & the chocolate you've stashed away for no one else to find (oh wait, that's only me) haha.
WINE HAS TONS OF HEALTH BENEFITS
Like I mentioned up above, wine in moderation, can reduce the risk of type II diabetes, strokes, heart attacks, cancers, & even liver disease. Wine may also lower bad cholesterol & boost the good cholesterol in your body! Sounds like a total win for us & even more of an excuse to pour ourselves a glass of red wine after a long day at work.
THE HEALTHIEST RED WINE
My personal favorite, Pinot Noir, carries the most health benefits. Red wines are known to be healthier than white wines. However, a glass of Pinot Noir is the only red wine that contains the most resveratrol, a plant compound that is known to help reduce cholesterol & blood clots. It even helps to increase longevity.
